News-Rusal reported a year-on-year profit of $1.793 billion in 2022, down 44.4%

Rusal reported earnings of $13.974 billion for the year ended December 31, 2022, up 16.5% from the previous year; Adjusted EbitDA of $2.028 billion, down 29.9% from a year ago; Profit of $1.793 billion, down 44.4% year on year; Adjusted net profit of US $725 million, down 52.8% year on year; Basic earnings per share were $0.118.

For the full year 2022, aluminum production totaled 3,835 kilotons, basically flat (up 1.9% on-year); Aluminium sales decreased 0.2% on-year to 3.896 million tonnes; Average realized aluminum prices rose 16.6 percent year-over-year to $2,976 per ton. The increase is due to the London Metal Exchange quote period of 11 (15.8% on-year to US $2,667 / mt) and the average realized premium (23.6% on-year to US $309 / mt).
